(London.16th August 13) Safe MMA is proud to announce that two more promotions have registered with the voluntary medical organisation this week.

OMMAC fulfilled its pledge made earlier this year and has registered with Safe MMA ahead of OMMAC 18 on 7th September in Liverpool. OMMAC is holding a medical day for all OMMAC 18 fighters based in the North West, next Saturday 24th August.

Promoter, Chris Zorba, said:

“I have supported Safe MMA from its inception as a platform for fighter safety and a step
towards a UK governing body. I felt there would be initial teething problems and the
inevitable critics. I think the time is right now for OMMAC and myself to be involved and also
have an input with my 15 years experience in the fight sport industry. Safe MMA has already
made great steps in its first eight months and credit must go to all the founders involved.
OMMAC 18 will be the first Safe MMA event on September 7th.”
Euro Fight Night is the first Irish promotion to join Safe MMA under SafeMMA-Ireland,
ahead of its forthcoming event on 14th September.  The professional fights on a
predominantly Amateur fight card will fall under Safe MMA
criteria.  Euro Fight Night is run by John Kavanagh and SBG gym.
Fighter Aisling Daly of SBG, who has been pivotal in the launch of SafeMMA-Ireland, said:
‘Euro Fight Night are delighted to be working with SafeMMA. This is the future of fighter
safety and we are happy to be giving our fighters the care they deserve.’
Safe MMA is also proud to announce that its first Annual General Meeting for member
promotions, gyms and Safe MMA medical professionals has been set for the 21st November
in Central London.
