TONIGHT – 7th MARCH 2015

(London.7th March 2015) Tonight’s FIGHT UK 11 event at Alfreton Leisure Centre in Derbyshire is working with Safe MMA.

The largely Amateur show has agreed to continue to work in accordance with Safe MMA event guidelines, as a component of working towards meeting United Kingdom MMA Federation (UKMMAF) sanctioning criteria. The professional headline bout on tonight’s card has been medically approved by Safe MMA doctors.

FIGHT UK was the first UK event to be shadow sanctioned by the UKMMAF in 2014. Following the recent departure of promoter, Alistair Pettitt, Managing Director Ian Cox has confirmed FIGHT UK’s continued commitment to working in partnership with the UKMMAF and Safe MMA towards full regulation.

At this time only Professional fighters are required to pass annual medical examinations. The question of safety standards for Amateur competitors is to be addressed by the Safe MMA board and members in the coming weeks. In the meantime Amateurs undergo the same Pre and Post Fight Medical examinations as Professional competitors at Safe MMA shows.
