Spotlight on SAFE MMA Fighters
For Mariusz Mikolajewski, stepping into the cage isn’t just about wins and losses—it’s about purpose, discipline, and building a legacy beyond the cage. The 28-year-old Merseyside native is not only a professional MMA fighter but also a devoted father of three, a full-time worker, and an entrepreneur juggling a major home renovation. Amidst this whirlwind, Mariusz still finds time to train like a man possessed.
“I refuse to live an ordinary life and be like most people,” he says with quiet intensity. “Motivating myself to just get up and keep working on my goals is easy.”
Before MMA became his main pursuit, Mariusz dabbled in various striking disciplines—kickboxing, Muay Thai, and boxing. But it wasn’t until a grappling class at his local gym, Team Elite, that he truly found his calling.
“As a youngster full of curiosity, I had to give it a go,” he recalls. “I immediately took a liking to it.”
That spark of interest has since ignited a fire that fuels his daily grind. He holds titles as the former Amateur Cage Warriors Welterweight Champion and the Full Contact Contender Welterweight Champion. His training sessions are non-negotiable, even with the mounting pressures of adult life. “If I feel like I have too much to do,” he admits, “I will simply compromise sleep to complete my workouts.”
Now with a professional record of 1–1, Mariusz’s next challenge looms on the horizon: Cage Warriors 191 on 28 June in Manchester. After a hard-fought loss, he’s made strategic changes to his training and mindset. “I’m excited to showcase what I’ve been working on,” he says. A win would not only be a boost to his record—it would be confirmation that he’s on the right path.
Despite the chaos of balancing work, family, and fighting, Mariusz remains grounded, thanks in part to a firm focus on his mental and physical health. “The state of your mind is just as important as your skills in the gym,” he emphasizes. This awareness is one reason he values the role of Safe MMA in ensuring that fighters undergo thorough medical testing and safety protocols.
“So far, it has been a pleasant experience,” Mariusz notes. “Clear and concise instructions, all in the name of safety.”
Looking ahead, Mariusz isn’t just aiming to win his next fight—he’s got his sights set on a much bigger prize. “My next big goal is to fight for the Cage Warriors Welterweight Title,” he says. “It may seem far-fetched just now, but it won’t be so much in the next couple of years!”
From grappling classes to championship ambitions, Mariusz Mikolajewski is forging a path defined by sacrifice, resilience, and a refusal to settle. For him, the fight isn’t just in the cage—it’s in every moment of life he chooses to rise, train, and push forward.
